DEBI NOVA CANTARÁ EN LOS HISPANIC HERITAGE AWARDS

WASHINGTON, DC (September 12, 2013). Songstress Debi Nova takes the stage at the 26th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards to be broadcast nationally this Sunday, September 15, on MundoFox at 7pm EST/PST. The young costa rican singer-songwriter will perform her brand new single “Un Dia a La Vez” for the very first time on TV. The Awards, which celebrate Hispanic cultural pride, contributions, and accomplishments, were taped last week at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. This year’s Hispanic Heritage Awards honorees include: Eva Longoria, Diego Luna, Los Tigres del Norte, Lucero, Chef Jose Andrés, Education Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, Voto Latino President Maria Teresa Kumar, Race Car Driver Juan Pablo Montoya and Nonprofit initiative STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Math).

“Un Día a La Vez” is the first track off Nova’s upcoming sophomore album “Soy” which will be released worldwide in 2014. Entirely in Spanish, “Soy” showcases 11 songs that demonstrate Nova’s growth as an artist, pianist, and composer. Songs which transmit warmth, positivity, contagious emotions, and unleash her captivating spirit.

About Debi Nova:
A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist since the age of 14, Nova set out on a path to achieve her dream at 17, when she signed her first record deal. Since then, she has been involved in six projects nominated for a Grammy award, a dance song which reached #1 on the Billboard Dance charts, and has collaborated with artists including Black Eyed Peas, Sean Paul, Sergio Mendes, Ricky Martin and Franco De Vita.
Nova released her first album, “Luna Nueva,” in 2010. Its first single “Drummer Boy”, reached #5 on the Billboard dance charts. That same year, she participated in two of the most watched TV shows in North America, “Dancing With The Stars” and “So You Think You Can Dance”. In 2011, Nova was invited by the Venezuelan singer/composer Franco De Vita to participate in the recording of the song “Si Quieres Decir Adiós” (If You Want To Say Goodbye) , which was included in Franco de Vita’s album “En Primera Fila” (Front Row). She toured with De Vita throughout Latin America, performing with him in more than 60 shows.
In 2011, MTV Latin America awarded her the prize MTV Chiuku: Agent of Change, for her work in the United Nations’ campaign “UNITE to end violence against women”, and in April 2012, she was named ambassador of YUNGA (Youth and United Nations Global Alliance). Recently, Nova was selected as the official voice of the Central American Games, San José 2013, with the song “Arriba Arriba” (Get Up, Get Up) and was also invited to participate in the TEDx Joven Pura Vida (Youth Pure Life) conference, where she shared her story, her music and encouraged young people to follow their dreams.
